Hello! I’m Elaine Stewart. I’m a fortunate mama of 3 amazing kids. You can learn a bit about me and the hats I wear below. If something resonates with you then reach out! I would love to connect with you. I believe that with each connection we make we can make the world a little brighter. Hope to hear from you!
I loved my job as an elementary school teacher but when I had kids of my own I wanted to stay home with them so I didn’t miss a moment. However, I still needed a full-time income. In 2005 I founded Fortunate Mama. We do health and wellness education for a US manufacturer. It has been so rewarding. It satisfies my desire to educate and help others and I’m able to schedule my work around what’s most important to me- my family. In 2010, when my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I would have lost my traditional teaching job due to the amount of care she needed from me. I’m so thankful I was already working from home on my own terms. I realized what a gift I had and I began training others to work with me so that they could have the same freedom. I can help you turn your passion into your career. I found a way to have my cake and eat it too. Now I train others to do the same. Are you looking? Let’s connect.
In 2010 my 9 year old daughter, Gwyneth, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We had no idea what that was and it rocked our world. Fortunately, Gwyneth is sunshine. From the day of diagnosis she has found a way to look at the bright side of it all. So for all you Type 1 rock stars and the hero caregivers watching over you at night– we get you & we love you. Visit our site and connect with us. We bring sunshine and support to those living with Type 1 Diabetes and the people who love them. We’re here to shine a light on the good and give you support as you journey through life. Until there’s a cure we’ll spread Diabetic Sunshine.
I’m so proud of my mom, Sandy Richardson. She founded SLO Womenade in 2003 after she retired from teaching. Starting with a potluck of 7 friends that pooled together some money to donate, Womenade has grown into a 501c3 that has given over $750,000 to those in need in SLO County. Womenade is a community network that donates items, time, and money to meet essential needs in SLO County. All funds go directly to support those in crisis, with referrals coming from schools, medical professionals, county health departments, and local social services. I’ve been so thankful to be a part of Womenade since it began and I am happy to serve on the Board. If you have a heart for serving others then join us! There is so much we can do together.
